I want you to know... I get it! Even though the reasons to create an online business are so obvious, the process involved in creating one is anything but.

It's like...where the hay do I even begin? There's so much conflicting information online.

“How did my online story start?”

It was early 2017, and I had been scrolling Facebook aimlessly.

The backstory – My mom had passed away 3 years earlier. I was still grieving her death. And I was unsure of where life was going to take me. 

You see, I had been her full-time caregiver for 5 years after having been a multiple six figure a year freelance copywriter for over a decade which frankly, while extremely lucrative, I had become seriously burnt out from.

Now, I felt lost and confused. It just all got SO real. I no longer wanted to trade time for money seeing how my mom and dad had passed away. I knew life was too short to not do what I love, and I didn’t want to let any more precious moments fade away.

But I didn’t know what I wanted to do.

That day on Facebook, I was feeling desperate for a sign and came across a high school acquaintance who was promoting her business.

It was by far the strangest thing ever. Here she was selling beauty products online right on social media and freakin' making money (in her PJs, I found out). #Goalz

I wanted to make Facebook posts, and GET PAID TOO!

And in that moment, I remembered almost a decade earlier, I had looked into online business with someone who’s now famous in the industry. 

I just didn’t “get it” at the time. There was no earth-shattering moment of enlightenment for me. So it didn’t go anywhere.

See, back in 2008, online business wasn’t what it was today.

But this day on Facebook, as I sat there staring at her post, I realized this was the sign I had been looking for. It was like one of those full circle moments in life where everything suddenly makes sense.

*voice texting self: "I think I just found my actual calling."*

I just had no clue how to make a go of it. So after a lot of hesitation I started promoting these beauty products too.

The problem was I had NO IDEA what I was doing and the people who were “teaching” me were giving me outdated pitchfest “strategies” that fell as flat as my hair in tropical heat.

I was getting unfriended, my DMs were going unanswered, and it was crickets on my page. 

Without seeing results, after months and months of hard work, I quit the business. 

I was upset, unmotivated, and frustrated. I knew if I’d only had the right people teaching me real information, I could have had success and not wasted so much time.

I could have left a legacy instead of being sent to virtual voicemail, as I unknowingly made faux pas after faux pas.

Online Business Was A Mystery. But Not Anymore. Here’s Why…

I discovered creating an online business could be SIMPLE and flowy - like never-ending brown sugar lattes.

And it’s in fall 2017, that everything changed. Just by chance, I stumbled upon a woman on Facebook who was selling another product online. I could tell, with everything in me, that she knew what she was doing. And she was clearly very successful. 

The key was she wasn’t selling a product - at least directly - she was selling herself! But, actually, she wasn’t selling at all. She was instead sharing who she was. Being herself, totally unapologetically.

There was nothing pushy about it. In fact, she was entertaining, and I looked forward to “tuning in” to see what she would say next.

As I witnessed this firsthand, I had that breakthrough “ah-ha” moment you always hear about. That  “oooooooooohhhhhh!!!” 

The excitement was palpable. Suddenly I knew the secret!

I finally was no longer alone, searching for answers, praying to God, the moon, the stars, and the universe to come across the right person and information.

For the VERY FIRST TIME, I knew, without a doubt, what to do.

And the secret was, all I had to do was MODEL her.

Model someone who had already paved the path and been successful instead of floundering in fear and doubt and starting from 0.

By doing so, I’d surely be able to create similar drool-worthy results. 

It may sound obvious now (le duh!), but at the time, I didn’t have faith that I’d ever run into this “magical” unicorn of a person. I mean, I knew they existed online but where were they? How would I find the right one?

As soon as I got this concept and found her, everything changed!

After learning her techniques, I leaned into my calling and became a personal branding and social strategist and began teaching others how to create social influence online.

And what were they doing? MODELING me, of course! ;)

As I learned and implemented this, I started documenting exactly what I was teaching others and in 2 months, I created the ultimate online business SUCCESS system using my signature Social "STAR" Method.
